I was hoping for the best and planning for the worst but this little thing seems to work pretty well. I've only used it once so far at a distance of about 8' but it is easily focused and pretty bright. We were showing a webinar on a light purple sheet in a not completely darkened room and were able to see it pretty well. Can't say how it will work when I have to back up and enlarge but I'm hopeful
